One piece of research information I found was in a book called “Science and Racket Sports IV” by A. Lees et. al. It featured information regarding training techniques and injury prevention in regards to tennis, and stated that “sports sciences have greatly contributed to the increase of tennis knowledge during recent times.” It also found that research into areas such as tennis-specific training can help prevent injuries for junior athletes.

However, it also states that “it has become apparent that more investment into tennis research is required” because research is such an necessary growth point of tennis. II believe that this puts my blog in good stead, because it means I can do individual research and shows there is a market for this.

After some thorough research looking into internet forums, I found that has a comprehensive range of tennis coverage in my area of interest, with specific topic areas ranging from Pros’ Racquets and Gear to Junior League and Tournament Talk. Although there is no official research project regarding this forum, using my own research skills I discovered certain facts about the forum.  In these two sub-forums alone, there are over 250,000 posts and counting, with over 10,000 separate threads and over 100,000 members.

To me, this shows that my niche area is feasable and has a market.
